Do you want to go forward in your marriage but feel “stuck”? Make momentum by following the principles in this 6-Part series on VowsToKeep Radio…
So often, we don’t have the MARGIN to love our spouse well or fulfill our God-given role well in marriage. We feel like we’re distracted and divided with no dividends to pour into our marriage relationship.
In Part 1 of this series, we’re going to look at 3 specific areas that hold us back, “FAT” that might need to get cut out so we can run this race well. (Hebrews chapter 12)
In Part 2 of Trim It, Live It, Prove It – We’re going to T-R-I-M out the F-A-T we uncovered in our lives and marriages from last week. (And we’ll get specific about some common “FATS” like Time, Technology, Purity and Finances) and how to specifically TRIM them out. God has amazing things in store for your marriage as you follow His Word! For further study and encouragement this week, read Hebrews 12 and Proverbs 3.
Part 3 of Trim It, Live It, Prove It – Over the last 2 weeks, we’ve gotten specific on what the FATS are in our lives, how they trip us up and how we can TRIM them out. In this broadcast, we’re going to learn to Live It. Seeing that living as a disciple of Christ is entirely different than saying we believe He is God’s Son. We’ll learn having a teachable, moldable heart should be viewed as an on-going, current condition not a long term guarantee. For further study and encouragement, read James chapter 1 and the Parable of the Pharisee and Tax Collector in Luke 18.
In Part 4 of Trim It, Live It, Prove It – we teach on having a teachable heart. Proverbs 13:10 “Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.” If you find a person who is not teachable, you will find pride and strife in his/her relationships. Pride is the root of being unteachable. For further study and encouragement, read Luke 5:27-32 and Daniel chapters 2-4.
Part 5: Prove IT! Proving It is done first in the places where faking it would NEVER work. The Lord we say we’ve committed to serve is revealed or not revealed first to those closest to us.
Our obedience to God’s Word is the evidence, the proof of God’s existence and Love to those who need to see Him. We’ll study in this broadcast WHY God asks us to obey His Word and how our marriages will benefit from it! For further study and encouragement, read Deuteronomy 6 and 1 John.
Part 6: Obedience to God’s Word = Love to our spouse. Obedience = love. What is love? Love = knowing what someone wants or needs and taking measurable action to ensure they receive it.
